Commissioned to document one of Coimbatore’s well-regarded educational institutions, Spontofocus approached the Elgi School project as both an architectural and a human brief. The campus is designed with children’s movement and experience at its centre — open corridors, generous circulation spaces, and a layout that encourages activity rather than containment.
The exteriors present a clean, well-maintained campus with landscaped grounds, open sports fields, and a frontage that communicates the institution’s standing in the city. Inside, the design is deliberately energetic — vibrant murals cover corridor walls and atrium facades, colour-coded floors guide movement, and double-height internal courts allow natural light deep into the building.
Photographing an active school environment requires sensitivity alongside technical precision — capturing the architecture accurately while reflecting the life that fills it. Spontofocus documented the full campus, producing imagery suited to institutional publications, admissions communication, and the architect’s project portfolio.
