An architecture studio’s own office is invariably its most considered project — and Cuboid, Coimbatore delivers on that expectation. Spontofocus was commissioned to document this commercial interior and exterior, a space where the design team has used their own workplace as a demonstration of their approach.
The exterior sets the tone — raw concrete, exposed brick, and full-height glazing give the building an industrial honesty that carries directly into the interiors. Inside, an open-plan workspace is organised with precision: a sculptural reception counter, brick feature walls, and ceiling-mounted track lighting over concrete soffits create a backdrop that is functional without being austere. Bold colour accents — yellow ceiling fins, blue soft seating, graphic wall murals — inject energy into the working environment without disrupting the rawness of the material palette.
Photographing a space designed by architects for architects demands accuracy above all else. Every design decision is intentional and the photography reflects that — composed to document the detail, the spatial flow, and the character of a workplace that practises what it designs.
